La Festa Phu Quoc, Curio Collection by Hilton : Hotel Review

La Festa Phu Quoc

"Sunset views on the beaches of Phu Quoc" is probably why we booked this hotel without even thinking much. If you read my travel blog about Phu Quoc, you might already know that my trip objective was to do nothing and just relax — really relax, without much commuting or using our brains to think and plan.

The reality of being an adult working in corporate is that you always plan ahead of time: project management, client expectations, and deliverables. When you are young, you plan your trip based on excitement and a desire to see it all; now, perhaps, you want to take it easy. That’s exactly what we did, and the hotel — La Festa Phu Quoc, Curio Collection by Hilton, in Sunset Town — really helped us with adult burnout.

La Festa Phu Quoc, Curio Collection by Hilton hotel lobby

The hotel lobby is a showstopper. We were on our way out to dinner, and it looked so cozy in the evening…

Known as Pearl Island, La Festa Phu Quoc, Curio Collection by Hilton is perfectly situated along the southwestern coast of Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam. This luxury hotel is the flagship debut of Hilton’s Curio Collection in Vietnam. And Hilton didn’t disappoint us with an immersive destination-resort experience centered on Italian design and beachfront culture right here in Southeast Asia.

When you’re wandering around, your first thought is probably, “Wait — this feels like the Amalfi Coast,” as it combines Mediterranean coastal aesthetics with a touch of local Vietnamese design. The architecture features pastel-hued facades, which I love, terracotta roofs, and arched walkways overlooking the ocean. Inside, the guest rooms and suites carry subtle Mediterranean influences — from vibrant, sun‑kissed color palettes to custom art pieces, ceramic detailing, and premium room finishes like 19-69 Capri bath amenities.

Accommodations and Amenities

The first thing we did after checking in was explore the room and see what goodies were there. I thought the blue bathrobe, the hat, and the bag were cute touches. The hotel didn’t look very large for a resort, but don’t let that fool you — the resort actually features nearly 200 rooms, suites, and duplexes, many offering private balconies with expansive ocean views.

The room type we booked for this occasion was a “Twin Balcony Ocean View” for two nights, with breakfast included. The room is spacious, with comfortable beds and a bathroom with an open layout and good amenities. Extra points to Hilton for having a bidet in the toilet!

The highlight of this room is definitely the balcony, where you can enjoy the sunset and the wonderful shows they have in Sunset Town right from your room. The view is breathtaking both day and night, with Kiss Bridge as a beautiful backdrop. Imagine making yourself a cup of espresso while watching the sun come up. And of course, this is a luxury resort, so they have complimentary tea and coffee for you to enjoy.

Thinking about this hotel again makes me very happy! This experience is more than just a “nice hotel room” — you can truly build your itinerary around it.

Besides the beautiful room, the resort has nice facilities too. Too bad we didn't really get a chance to try them all. The hotel has a nice outdoor infinity pool that directly faces the ocean and Kiss Bridge, complemented by sun loungers and cabanas. I love the yellow beach vibe. We really enjoyed ourselves dipping in the pool; jumping in the water after the heat was truly enjoyable.

The property also houses the award-winning eforea spa, a 24-hour health club with Technogym equipment, and a dedicated Kids' Club.

Dining

La Festa Phu Quoc, Curio Collection by Hilton, has a nice buffet line with a mix of Vietnamese and Western food. The best thing about staying in a luxury resort is the breakfast. I love staying in fancy hotels and waking up for a nice breakfast buffet; my friend loves it too.

The Merchant serves an extensive all-day buffet from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. for breakfast. My favorite is the Vietnamese coffee station and the bánh mì, Vietnam’s iconic street-food sandwich, renowned for its interplay of crisp, light bread, rich savory proteins, tangy pickled vegetables, and fresh herbs. I love it! It pairs so well with the coffee for breakfast.

Fun fact, when French colonists introduced coffee to Vietnam in the 19th century, fresh milk was scarce and spoiled quickly in the tropical climate. Canned sweetened condensed milk was widely imported as a shelf-stable alternative. Its rich sweetness naturally complemented the dark, heavy, and intensely bitter profile of native Vietnamese Robusta beans. So today, you can see condensed milk in Vietnamese coffee. So, the hotel provided condensed milk on the side as this type of coffee has become the signature style. Thick, creamy, and sweet to balance the strong bitterness of coffee beans.

But if you prefer something hot, pho is also a great dish you must not miss especially for noodle lover. Phở is Vietnam’s national dish. It has a fragrant noodle soup centered around a slow-simmered, spice-infused broth, flat rice noodles, paper-thin slices of meat, and fresh herbs. For spicy lover such as myself, I added extra chili for the kick too.

Beyond the main breakfast spot, the hotel has five awesome places to hang out, eat, and grab a drink:

  • Cielo: A rooftop bar with prime sunset views, Italian bites, and cocktails. It’s also the spot to catch the local fireworks show.

  • Francesca: A coastal-inspired rooftop pool bar for relaxed daytime drinks and romantic evening vibes.

  • Finca: A cozy Mediterranean joint made for sharing plates, opening a good bottle of wine, and unwinding.

  • Seta: Exceptional contemporary Cantonese food featuring incredible dim sum.

  • Luna Folk: A moody jazz bar spinning vintage soul tunes alongside crafted cocktails.

What to do around the resort?

The architecture around the resort is very nice, and I guarantee you’ll get many beautiful pictures. There are many landmarks within a short walking distance, including the Kiss Bridge, the Campanile Clock Tower, and the Sun World Hon Thom Cable Car Station, making the resort very convenient. As an in-house guest, you receive resort perks such as access passes to the Kiss Bridge and ticket privileges for the "Kiss of the Sea" multimedia show and the nightly fireworks displays over the bay.

Overall, I loved this hotel stay and enjoyed the experiences. If you’d like, you can create an itinerary around your stay similar to mine. You can read more about my travel plan in Phu Quoc here.

Have a nice day until we see each other again!
